FUNDRAISING & GRANTWRITING

I am pleased to work with a variety of amazing artists, students, arts organizations, and non-profits, on their goals for development, fundraising, and grant-writing. It is a privilege to teach and consult with a wide range of individuals and groups to think about how to better advocate for their artistic projects and ensure they have the resources they need to bring their vivid ideas to life.

I have close to a decade of experience navigating fundraising and freelancing, on both sides of the stage. In addition to an active career as a NYC/Boston freelancer I have held leadership roles as Managing Director of the Talea Ensemble and the [Switch~ Ensemble], and am currently Manager of Institutional Giving for Community Music Center of Boston. I oversee $1M annually in foundation, government, and corporate grants for the largest external provider of arts education to the Boston Public Schools. Advancing cultural equity, culturally-responsive arts education, and advocating for more equitable philanthropic engagement are key parts of my role.

Freelance consulting engagements include both one-time sessions and ongoing relationships, with organizations like the Cramer String Quartet, Marilyn Rodman Center for the Performing Arts, the Argus String Quartet, Boston Chamber Music Society, the Halcyon Chamber Music Festival, and more.

Interested in working together? Please be in touch by email. I am pleased to work with groups on fundraising, development, or nonprofit finance / management.

I also work often as a guest speaker in universities and music departments, working with early career musicians on a wide range of subjects including: tactics for fundraising and grant-seeking, forming and running an ensemble, securing grants for commissions, navigating a career in the arts, how to establish a freelancing career, and much more. It is always humbling to work with music & arts students on the verge of entering their professional careers: they're razor sharp, tenacious, and full of bold and vivid ideas. It brings me great joy to share what knowledge and experience I have accumulated across my work as a flutist, composer, and administrator.
